India is a great country with its cultural diversity and a large geographical area. The development of a country mainly depends on the availability of natural resource and human resources. India is abundant in both the resources and it is heading its step towards one of the major super power in Asian continent. Now it’s a time for its citizens to make this country clean and beautiful. Which in turn increases countries value in the world. Our honourable prime minister also mentioned regarding importance of cleanliness in his “Mann Ki Baat” on 27.08.2017 and hence directed to conduct “Swachata Hi Seva” mission from 15.09.2017 to 02.10.2017. The main aim of this mission is mass movement for cleanliness and building atmosphere feasible for improved concentration.

As per the letter No F-8(50)swach bharath/Academic-II/2017/11242 Dated 19.09.2017 Mai Khadija institute of Nursing Sciences organized various programmes the eve of “Swachata Hi Seva”. The programme is inaugurated by Mr. Jitendra Khatri, Principal, Mai Khadija Institute of Nursing Sciences, Jodhpur on 19.09.2017. Along with the principal various dignitaries of the management were involved in the programme. Principal addressed the students regarding importance of maintaining of cleanliness and environmental sanitation. Also motivated students for getting involved in cleanliness programme in surroundings of institution. Along with the principal other dignitaries also addressed the students regarding role of nurse in maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings and its advantages.

The students are divided in different groups for cleanliness activities from 20.09.2017 to 25.09.2017. The students are accompanied by the faculty members for the purpose of supervision. The cleaning activities are conducted throughout the campus. Which is spread over 4 acres. The students are actively involved in the cleaning activities along with the staff members. Various programmes were conducted from 26.09.2017 to 01.10.2017 to encourage students getting involved in cleanliness activities. Poster competition was organized on 26.09.2017 total 37 students participated in preparing posters regarding importance of swacchata and swacchata hi seva. Posters are evaluated by senior faculty of the institute and declared the winner of the competition.

On 27.09.2017 an essay writing competition was organized on the topic “Swachata Hi Seva”. Total 28 students participated in the essay writing competition. Later the essays are evaluated by the senior faculty of the institute to declare the winner of the competition.
A speech competition was organized on the topic “Swachata Hi Seva” on 29.09.2017. Total 23 number of students participated in the competition and they presented an excellent views on importance of cleanliness.

A rally was conducted on 02.10.2017 to create awareness among the public regarding cleanliness in their home and surroundings. The students and the faculty members of the institute actively participated in the rally.

A programme on 02.10.2017 was also organized to celebrate a Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti. Several dignitaries along with the principal and Nursing Advisor of the institute are gathered to celebrate this auspicious day in the institute. Dignitaries addressed the students regarding the life work of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. They also advised the students to maintain cleanliness and spread awareness among the public regarding maintenance of cleanliness.

On 02.10.2017 a 15 day long programme of swachata hi seva concluded in which both the students and faculties of the institute participated lead by the principal from front. These 15 days students and faculties have actively involved in cleanliness activities in the institute and its surroundings. Various programmes are also organized for creating awareness among the students and public.
